I/ITSEC Serious Games Showcase & Challenge (SGS&C) have launched a new website https://sgschallenge.org/ just in time for submissions to open on June 17th!

“Our new professional look for the Serious Games Showcase & Challenge (SGS&C) website better highlights the world class challenge that takes place as part of the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) each year,” said 2024 Organizing Committee lead Matt Becchio, Engineering & Computer Simulations. “We received great feedback on our more modern style booth design and layout unveiled at I/ITSEC 2023 and the new website aligns well with the refreshed booth. We can’t wait to hear what SGS&C supporters think about it.”
The new website brings an opportunity to showcase the finalists and winners from all the SGS&C events dating back to the first one in 2006. It includes a better search tool to find information about the exemplary serious games that have been featured by SGS&C.
“In addition to providing this quality archive of serious games, I am delighted to be able to highlight current and prior committee leadership and integrate the submission forms all in one place,” said SGS&C Director Jenn McNamara , BreakAway Games.
“Our all-volunteer committee are hard at work tracking down and populating 18 years of historical data, so please share your feedback, but be patient. If you are a prior committee member or finalist and would like to provide updated information for the site or see something that needs correction, please just reach out to us at [email protected] or use the contact us feature on the new website!

Submit your game
The organizing committee looks forward to welcoming this year’s best-in-class games to participate in the SGS&C event at I/ITSEC, Dec. 2-6 in Orlando, Fla. Maybe YOU will have a game selected among the finalists that are vying for the 2024 awards including Best General Audience Game, Best Government Audience Game, Best Student Developed Game, Best XR Game, Best Serious Game Innovation, Students’ Choice, and People’s Choice.
Please note that the schedule adjustment made in 2023 will remain the same for 2024 to ensure earlier notification of finalists. This allows them more time for planning for event participation as well as more time for games to be highlighted leading up to the conference.
Submissions for the SGS&C 2024 open June 17 and close August 23. Finalists are selected in mid-September and those chosen will showcase their games at I/ITSEC in Orlando, Dec. 2-6. More information about SGS&C can be found on the SGS&C website (https://sgschallenge.org/.)
SGS&C grew from a Team Orlando initiative spearheaded by Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division and sponsored by National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA). SGS&C’s first I/ITSEC was 2006 and it has been a thriving part of the I/ITSEC experience since, bringing first-in- class serious games and novel game design and technology demonstrations to the I/ITSEC community.
