MindShift reported today that a new study released by SRI International suggests that games can improve cognitive learning by as much as 12% in science, technology, engineering and math subjects over K-16 students who were not exposed to the digital game.  For simulations, the effective is even more dramatic — increases by as much as 25%.  The meta-analysis was funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and conducted by the Games Learning and Assessment Lab (GlassLab) team, or GlassLab-Research, led by SRI International.
