STROKE-Keep the Brain Alive in 45 game consists of two levels.
Level one the user will learn the seven signs/symptoms of stroke. In this level the user will observe virtual avatar patients display multiple physical symptoms and try to determine if the patient is a) having a stroke and b) which of the seven symptoms is the avatar patient displaying.

Level two is role based where the user chooses doctor or nurse who is on the clock to save the brain of a stroke victim. Depending on users role, they will treat the stroke victim diagnosed from the previous level using the AIS Stroke Protocol. From the CT scan, to administering alteplase the user must save the brain in 45 minutes or less. The mentor brain gives the user immediate positive or negative feedback on their clinical decisions while the scoring system of a live brain will deteriorate and die over time if the user can not save the brain in 45 minutes or less.

Game Overview

STROKE – Keep the Brain Alive in 45 teaches the user about Acute Ischemic Strokes and how to treat them.

The goal of this game is to save the brain of a stroke victim using the Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) stroke protocol in 45 minutes or less.

The primary audience may include, but is not limited to physicians, nurses, Emergency Department (ED) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Chiefs or equivalent, ED and ICU staff physicians and nurses, ED and ICU nurse managers or equivalent.

The scoring system of a visible live brain will deteriorate and die over time if the user actions are not correct and can not save the brain in 45 minutes or less. Badges are awarded for users that make correct decisions on first attempts in multiple categories
