NihongoUp is a Japanese educational game and reviewing tool focused on improving your kana typing speed, reviewing Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) kanji and vocabulary, and learning Japanese particles in context.  Players “shoot down” balloons flying across the screen by typing the correct letter or number combinations on the keyboard while improving Katakana and Hiragana typing/recognition speed and reviewing JLPT kanji, vocabulary and particles.

Game Overview

NihongoUp allows players to improve their Japanese reading speed and review writing system, vocabulary and grammar in context.

Players must remember how to write, read and use both Japanese syllabaries (hiragana and katakana) and the basic 2000 Chinese characters (kanji).

Foreign learners of Japanese language as well as native speakers willing to improve their knowledge of kanji.

The player is presented with a detailed score after each game. The score is based on the number of correct answers as well as the longest streak of correct answers.
