Home N’ Work is a simulation game where the player must balance their home and work score to be balanced. The goal of the game is to simulate the struggles of work-life balance by using a pool of energy to dictate the player’s choices of what tasks to complete and when, on a day to day basis gameplay cycle.

The goal and challenge is to achieve work-life balance for a consistent amount of time.

By the Day marker in the HUD letting the player know how many “in-game” days they have played and the icon that indicates how many days they have achieved balance. The game has a difficulty progression, which can make a player lose as player feedback that they were not successful.

There is a lose condition to inform the player that they aren’t meeting the learning objective, and no win condition intentionally to motivate the player to navigate the harder difficulties that await in the game as it progresses. With no win condition, this has a quick gameplay cycle with the intention of people to attempt to outrank each other in a “leaderboard” type of competitiveness.
