The Serious Games Showcase & Challenge (SGS&C) committee has selected the 2023 finalists to be showcased at the Interservice/industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), Nov. 27-Dec. 1 in booth 3181 as part of the EcosySTEM of Learning Discovery Den. Winners from this group will be recognized at an awards presentation on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 1:00 p.m. in the Innovation Showcase booth 2588.

“I’m thrilled to welcome our first SGSCE winner to be showcased among our finalists at I/ITSEC” said Adelle Adams, RINA Consulting Defence Ltd., and SGS&C IPT Chair. “Our finalist games represent a wide range of topics, from foundational STEM learning and social responsibility, to medical and military decision making, emphasizing the flexible application of serious games across a diverse range of industries.”

Jennifer McNamara, Breakaway Games, and SGS&C director, said, “Once again, our showcase highlights novel learning and assessment approaches, including some developers from outside the standard I/ITSEC community who have never participated at I/ITSEC before. We believe that visiting the showcase and interacting with these developers and their games could bring innovative ideas to inform training systems of tomorrow.”

The Serious Games Showcase & Challenge (SGS&C) is the premier venue for recognition of excellence in the field of Serious Games development. Since 2006, SGS&C has helped foster creativity and innovation in Serious Games as part of NTSA’s I/ITSEC conference held each year in Orlando, Florida. An esteemed panel of evaluators from around the globe review the finalists and select all the winners, except for the People’s Choice award, which is voted on by I/ITSEC attendees.
